This entry level position requires the Chaplain to demonstrate competency in religious and cultural diversity relative to faith traditions as well as strong interpersonal communication skills. The Chaplain performs public and private religious services and should have current knowledge of Joint Commission, HIPAA, CMS related issues re: patients rights and responsibilities, and ethics.
Educational & Experiential Requirements:
Bachelors degree required, Masters degree preferred from an accredited institution in Theology, Pastoral Care, Spirituality, Counseling or similar discipline.
400 hours of Clinical Pastoral Education (1 Unit) required.
Endorsement by a professional accrediting organization and/or by a denominational representative; currently active in a faith community.
One year or more of Chaplaincy or pastoral experience preferably in healthcare setting.
Preference may be given to members of ecclesiastical denominations that are representative of those served by this institution.
Required to maintain behavior in the community consistent with high moral character.
