Chaplain II

The Chaplain is a full member of the clinical healthcare team, providing services for the Spiritual needs and education of patients, families and team members. The Chaplain is knowledgeable in the areas of Theology, Spirituality and Pastoral Care. The Chaplain is competent to perform Spiritual Care functions as needed to support the Spiritual and emotional health and well-being of those served.

Educational & Experiential Requirements:

  • Masters degree required from an accredited institution in Theology, Pastoral Care, Spirituality, Counseling or similar discipline.
  • 800 hours of Clinical Pastoral Education (2 Units) required.
  • 1600 hours of Clinical Pastoral Education (4 Units) preferred.
  • Endorsement by a professional accrediting organization and/or by a denominational representative; currently active in a faith community
  • Three years experience in Chaplaincy or equivalent pastoral experience.
  • Preference may be given to members of ecclesiastical denominations that are representative of those served by this institution.
  • Required to maintain behavior in the community consistent with high moral character.
