Parenting Resource Center

St. Mary Parenting Resource Center offers families in our community a supportive and nurturing environment. Assisted by trained and certified parenting educators, parents are helped to evaluate their individual needs and goals of parenting. Parenting educators provide education on the vital issues of parenting today and offer guidance on how to create healthy patterns of parenting styles and capabilities. The center offers a variety of services to parents including parenting workshops, and weekly parent-and-child groups.


The St. Mary Parenting Center is located in the Child Development Center building at the rear of the St. Mary campus. 

Parenting classes are also offered at the St. Mary Community Ministries in the Family Resource Center on Knights Road in Bensalem.

Parenting Resource Centers also have been established in the Neshaminy School District, Bristol Township School District, and Bensalem School District as a cooperative community effort.

Each center offers a variety of services to the families of the community, including parenting workshops, weekly parent-and-child groups, and "Puppets for Children," and is staffed by a certified parenting educator.

Parenting Center Fall Schedule- Programs Resume September 8th 2014



Baby Boppin  Jamm: 10:00 to 11 am (walkers to 23 months) Socialize and play to music 

After the Stork: 11:15 to 12:15 pm (0 to 12 months) tummy time activities with their special caregiver


Grandparent Camp: 11:00 to 12:30 this is a three week program for new and seasoned grandparents

Session 1- Learn about car seat safety, home safety and keeping your grandchild safe Sept. 30th

Session II –Come play and receive your “survival fun kit” to keep your grandchild entertained Oct. 7th

Session III –Childhood refresher class. Learn about temperament and childhood behaviors Oct. 14th


Tot R Cise: 10:15 to 11 am or 12:15 to 1:00 pm Toddlers and caregivers exercise to the beat of music

Toddler Fun Time: 11:15 am to 12:00 pm Toddlers meet for special story and activity time


Kids Morning Out: 10 to 11 am Arts and crafts while parents enjoy grown up conversation

Parent Child Programs are free and no registration is required.


*Special Programs


**Infant Massage- 11:30 this program has many benefits and is being offered for a three week session. Infant massage improves baby sleeping patterns, helps baby to be more relaxed in the home and creates a bonding experience between caregiver and baby. Class size is limited to five families per session.

Session I: Thursdays September 18th- 25th – and October 2nd  

Registration is required $5.00 fee

** First Footstepsthis program is designed for children ages 2.5 and older. The children accompany their special grown-up to engage in the pre-school experience through play, circle time, reading and snack time. FFS is a five week program and class sessions are limited to ten toddlers.

Registration is required $20.00 fee

Dates: September 12th-19th-26th and Oct. 3rd and 10th Times: 9:15 to 10:30 or 10:45-12:00

** Meet Greet and Chat Support Group- The group meets on Tuesday evenings from 6:15 to 7:30 pm Discuss parenting approaches and challenges with other parents and caregivers in a safe and confidential setting. Babysitting is available to all families at no cost.

Please join us on the third week for a boxed dinner


**Being a Better BabysitterProgram dates are Saturday September 20th and October 18th 2014 from 9 am to 1:30 pm. This class will help to prepare teenagers 12 years and older to care for young children.

Cost: $15.00 per participant $25.00 includes Babysitting handbook

**Individual Parenting Support - Parents and caregivers are given the opportunity to meet with an educator in a more personalized setting. Raising children can present many challenges in today’s world. This service provides support and various techniques to navigate through the parenting years. It is free of charge to the community. Participants will receive written information and a certificate of attendance. Individual Parenting Support is offered by appointment only.
