Yarmel named Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
Langhorne, Pa., August 8, 2012 … St. Mary Medical Center welcomes Jeffrey Yarmel as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. In his new position, Mr. Yarmel is responsible for the overall operations at St. Mary and for aligning resources to achieve the strategic and operating priorities of the Medical Center.
Mr. Yarmel has nearly 30 years of experience in executive-level healthcare administration. Most recently, he was Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for The Cooper Health System, where he provided leadership for the construction of a major expansion project and implemented operational changes to achieve financial goals.
Previously, Mr. Yarmel served as the Chief Executive Officer for the former Warminster Hospital, a for-profit hospital operated by Tenet Healthcare in Warminster, PA. During his tenure there, he helped the hospital attain profitable status as well as national recognition for both patient and physician satisfaction. Mr. Yarmel also was Senior Vice President for Strategic Business Development at Allegheny Health, Education and Research Foundation in Philadelphia from 1996 to 1998; and Chief Operating Officer for Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia from 1991 to 1996. He also has served as Director of Professional Services for the Medical College of Virginia Hospitals in Richmond, VA, and held the position of Assistant Professor at the School of Allied Health Professions-Department of Health Administration.
Mr. Yarmel earned a Master of Arts in Business from the University of Wisconsin in Madison, WI, and holds a bachelor degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
