Patient needs during and following hospitalization are the focus of our dedicated Social Workers

Our social workers are trained to understand the feelings brought on by illness and hospitalization and are available to support our patients and their families in coping with these difficult life experiences.

Sometimes a sudden or chronic illness can affect the ability of older person to function in day-to-day activities.

The St. Mary Medical Center social work staff try to visit patients who may need services as early in their hospital stay as possible. Social workers are also available prior to admission to assist patients who are anticipating a planned hospitalization.

If you wish to speak with a social worker for any reason, you are encouraged to call the St. Mary Medical Center Social Work Department at 215-710-2072.
