Our trauma team works closely with regional ambulance squads and medical evacuation helicopters to provide emergency care. On-site helicopter landing pads at the St. Mary campus permit air rescue and emergency services transport 24-hours a day, 365 days a year.
St. Mary has remained committed to its involvement in the Buck County's EMS since 1973. All levels of personnel, including senior administration, physicians and nurses, are involved in multiple aspects of EMS activities.
The medical center is a clinical training site for regional Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and Paramedic students, as well as an accredited PA Department of Health EMS Continuing Education sponsor. The Trauma department hosts various educational programs for our EMS providers including PALS and ACLS certification and Trauma Case Reviews.
