Breast Cancer Risk Assessment Tool

Breast Cancer Risk Assessment Tool

  • The tool should not be used to calculate breast cancer risk for woman who have a mutation in the BRCA1 or BRCA2 gene or who have a genetic syndrome associated with an increased risk of breast cancer.
  • The tool may not provide a good estimate of breast cancer risk for those individuals with a strong family history of cancer.  The toll does not take into account extended family members (aunts, grandmothers, etc.), breast cancer in men, other cancers associated with hereditary forms of breast cancer such as ovarian cancer, or a history of breast cancer on your father's side of the family.  A more detailed breast cancer risk assessment may need to be considered if you have a strong family history of cancer.
