Weight management

Regular attendance to the Weight Management program and lifestyle changes help patients with and without the diagnosis of diabetes to prevent the development or progression of Pre-Diabetes and Type 2 Diabetes. Patients that already have diabetes can improve their blood glucose control to prevent associated complications. This program helps participants understand how to make healthy eating and physical activity choices, and can lower the risk of complications from pre-diabetes, Type 2 Diabetes and obesity.

Sessions include:
  • Setting weight, BMI, exercise and behavior goals
  • Learning about fat, portion sizes, mindfulness eating, food triggers, behavior modification, physical activity, lifestyle activities and increasing energy
